Bio Synopsis

Dr. McNeil Concluded a thirteen-year career in the telecommunications industry as a Director of Sales and Marketing. He wrote a syndicated newspaper column entitled Life is not a Spectator Sport and co-authored a book with Paul Levesque called Dreamcrafting: The Art of Dreaming Big, The Science of Making It Happen Berret-Kohler Publishing.

During the 80s he transformed an idea into a successful business as founder and CEO of The Achieve Group, whose namesake (after being acquired by Times Mirror) went on to become Achieve Global, one of the world’s largest leader development companies. To honor a noncompete clause, Art directed Times Mirror’s international network of companies, served as Chairman of their International Board of Directors, and performed as Group VP of Marketing. This responsibility included all Times Mirror training acquisitions such as: Learning International, Zenger Miller, Kaset International, and The Achieve Group.

After Achieve

Art built and lived in an executive retreat center near Toronto Canada where he facilitated domestic and offshore executive teams. In keeping with the premise of his #1 best-selling book: The “I” of the Hurricane: Generating Corporate Energy, Art led culture-shaping initiatives for CEOs and senior teams. His process included values-clarification, developing a contagious brand promise, aligning people to consistently deliver on the commitment, focusing visions of preferred futures and using behavioral boundaries with accountability to enforce a corporate ethics platform.

Dr. McNeil’s clients included the senior teams of international corporations such as: American Express, Black & Decker, and Whitbread UK. He assisted in merging East/West Germany’s railroad and telephone system by negotiating the sale of a million-dollar supervisory training program with Roland Berger (head of Germany’s largest management consulting company).

Art wrote four books on topics such as inspirational-leadership, culture-shaping, and moving from management by personal authority to using process-discipline. He travelled the international speakers’ circuit as part of The Achieve Group’s growth strategy, earned a mid-career graduate degree in Applied Behavioral Science (specializing in leadership, team building, organization development, and the resolution of system dysfunction.) and in 2015, earned a Phd. in counseling.
